Portraits with Purpose

Let’s celebrate shelter animals.
Let’s get them seen. Let’s make it fun.

There’s a real shelter crisis happening across the U.S. Right now, so many incredible dogs are waiting for homes— often overlooked simply because of overcrowding and limited visibility.

To help shift that, I’m bringing what I love most — color, art, and storytelling — and using it to honor these dogs and help them be seen differently. Through vibrant, design-forward portraits, I want to present them not through sadness, but through personality, beauty, and main-character energy.

Art creates visibility. Visibility creates connection. And connection helps dogs find homes.

That’s the heart behind Portraits with Purpose and why I believe thoughtful, elevated art can play such a powerful role in telling that story.

Celebrate Your Pet. Support Another.

One & One
1 commissioned portrait = 1 shelter portrait

Custom pet portraits are a way to celebrate your own dog or cat through art—while also helping a shelter animal receive that same moment of recognition.

Each portrait is individually designed from your photos and created in diverse styles. For every portrait purchased, a second artwork is created for a Napa County Animal Shelter animal.

Shelter animals often arrive unseen and unknown. A portrait gives them presence, personality, and story—something that can help them connect with future adopters and the people who care for them every day. This project supports the shelter not just financially, but visually—by celebrating animals as individuals, not numbers.

A custom pet portrait makes an unforgettable gift—for a friend, a family member, or yourself. And with every commission, your love for your pet helps shine a light on another.

Art can shift perception

It started simply—experimenting with AI tools to create a calendar of my dog, Reba, as a Christmas gift. Then I created a digital portrait of a favorite shelter dog, Azula. It was fun, playful, and surprisingly moving. Soon after, I made another piece for Rayo, a husky with a completely different energy.

Each portrait is unique because each animal is unique.
Each one deserving of a moment in the spotlight.

As a creative director and designer, I think visually—through story, energy, and personality. I’m using art and digital tools to tell these dogs’ stories in a way that feels joyful, vibrant, and full of life.

Shelter dogs don’t need to be presented as “sad” or “depressing”. They are hopeful, expressive, and ready to be seen—and art allows us to meet them that way. Let's change the way that we see shelter animals.

Through Portraits with Purpose, I’m creating vibrant artwork that lives beyond the shelter walls—in studios, storefronts, and community spaces. The goal is simple: increase visibility, spark conversation, and help more people connect emotionally before they ever step inside the shelter.

Because when a dog is seen, everything changes.

If you’re interested in sponsoring this work—or supporting outreach through funding, amplification, or strategic partnership—I’d love to explore how we could collaborate to support local shelters together.

This project is a living body of work—custom digital pet portraits and ongoing artistic explorations designed to support shelter animals through visibility, storytelling, and care.

When someone commissions a custom pet portrait, they help fund the creation of artwork for shelter animals. This art increases visibility, honors each animal’s story, and supports adoption efforts.

The broader goal is outreach. These portraits are used to help animals find homes by being shared across social media, gifted to adopters at the time of adoption, and used to recognize shelter staff and volunteers.

We’re seeking brand partners to sponsor this outreach—supporting the creation, distribution, and amplification of shelter portraits. Sponsorship enables more animals to be seen, more stories to be told, and more adoptions to happen, while aligning brands with a visible, heartfelt mission rooted in community impact.
