Dukes and Dolls

In Spring 2025, I had the opportunity to install several original artworks at Dukes and Dolls (25 Kentucky Street), a beautifully designed salon in the heart of downtown Petaluma.

The collection featured seven original alcohol ink paintings, each hand-painted using a fluid medium that celebrates movement, color, and spontaneity. Every piece was one of a kind and framed with custom mats designed to complement the artwork and the space.

The paintings made a bold statement within the salon’s airy, double-height interior. Rich aquas, glowing oranges, and soft neutrals interacted beautifully with the natural light, creating an ever-changing experience throughout the day.

I love bringing original artwork into everyday spaces where people can encounter it unexpectedly. If you’re interested in commissioning artwork or discussing an installation for your home, office, hospitality venue, or business, I’d love to connect.

Art doesn’t just hang on a wall—it transforms. It complements, balances, reflects, and enhances. In this case, the mirrors in the salon double the presence of the artwork, and the neutral walls make the vibrant colors pop. When you’re choosing art for your home or office, think not just about the piece itself, but how it will interact with the space around it. Will it create contrast? Echo your colors? Invite emotion or curiosity?
